E-Cigarettes breakthrough as ban lifted
NHS Hospital lifts ban on use of e-cigarettes within their grounds.
There have been many statements recently from medical institutions advocating the use of E-Cigarettes. They are "much safer than smoking".
Therefore, it is not surprising that the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, which also runs Queen Medical Centre and City Hospital, have lifted the ban on the use of e-cigarettes within their grounds.
The Medical Director from the trust was reported as saying that they have a duty to help their patients and staff and they can't ignore the benefits of e-cigarettes as a replacement for smoking.
The above was also backed up by a respiratory consultant from the trust who reportedly said that he wanted the trust to encourage patients who smoke to use an e-cigarette instead.
Will this be the first hospital of many to lift the ban? I believe so, as more and more support is given by the medical profession for the e-cigarette.
