E-cigarettes closer to being prescribed on NHS

At the end of last year E-cigarettes were closer to being prescribed on the NHS. The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) confirmed that all e-cigarette manufacturers are now able to submit their e-cigarette products along side all other medicines that are available via the NHS.

All e-cigarette submissions will have to go through the same approval process as all other medicines currently do that are available on the NHS.

Should this succeed then England will become one of the first countries globally to prescribe e-cigarettes as a medical product. Therefore, e-cigarettes will become closer to being prescribed on NHS.

This is a huge positive step for the e-cigarette and it's come a long way since they were first introduced.
