Vaping has competitive sport Cloud Chasing
Vaping has competitive sport Cloud Chasing
With vaping becoming more widespread a competitive side is also proving popular within the vaping world.
The competitions come complete with:
- contests,
- judges,
- sponsors
- and spectators (known as Cloud Gazers) to see who can blow the largest and interesting plumes of vapour.
- Currently the competitions are mainly held in US & Canada but spreading as widely as Indonesia.
Some do consider it to be an actual sport. Prize money can range from US$250 to US$2,000.
Although, the World Vaping Championship has a total prize of US$100,000.
The contestants compete by standing back to back and blowing their cloud of vapour.
There are rules but essentially the person that exhales the larger cloud wins. In one competition in Texas the cloud of vapour reached 5 feet. The judge was reported as saying:
“there is a skill to being able to keep a ball of vapour together without it dissipating”.
Whilst clearly, there is a large following in Cloud Chasing.
There are some that:
- think exhaling large amounts of vapour in public and normally indoors, is not a good idea
- because those who are still doubtful about vaping will use this to support their case.
